We are very saddened by the loss of Mario, my husband and #1 fan. He passed away at home on Monday, November 17th, 2008. Mario was a great inspiration to me and was solely responsible for encouraging me to embark on the journey of learning to fly. It was an honor and a privilege to be his business partner, best friend and wife for the past 20 years; and to be his personal pilot for the last journies of his lifetime. We will all miss him dearly; but he will fly with me, in my heart, forever.

My most beloved team member, my husband, Mario, is critically ill and has been placed with the Hospice program. Please join us all in praying for a peaceful final journey for Mario.

Immediately upon our return from Oklahoma, Wild Mama was quickly stowed in her hanger awaiting the passage of Tropical Storm Fay. The winds were minimal but the rains were a-plenty, but both Wild Mama and Wild Child weathered the storm without a hitch. Of course, they are still safe and sound as Fay's continued presence in the State of Florida has made flying an impractical venture.

On August 15th, Wild Mama and her crew of 4 pilots from the Paradise Coast Chapter 99s will depart for Oklahoma City to compete in the 30th annual Okie Derby. Terry will be joined by Jessica Stearns, Suzanne Nickerson and Judy Bowser as the 4 test their knowledge of Wild Mama in this proficiency race. They will also get the chance to practice for the up-coming Sunshine Derby hosted by the Paradise Coast Chapter 99s on November 22nd in LaBelle, FL (X14).

With the race behind us and adventures ahead, Terry & Vern pause at Twitchell's in Turner Maine to get their sea plane ratings. Follow thrir journey throughout Maine and beyond on the 2008 Air Race Classic page and enjoy the sights of New England along with Wild Mama.
