MEETING, PARADISE COAST CHAPTER NINETY-NINES

November 27, 2007

Present:: Judy Bowser, Patty Berg, Jessica Stearns, Kaye Tucker, Terri Krass, Carolyn Scraggs, Nancy Moore, Terry Carbonell, Anne Miller, Ellen Herr, Frances Freeman, Dottie Campbell, Shirley Matthai.

The meeting was called to order at 7:50 pm by Chair Jessica Stearns.

1. The minutes of the October 22 meeting were read and accepted.

2. The upcoming conference at Anchorage was discussed. There will be a 7 day cruise of the inside passage prior to the convention.

3. Jessica reported on the section meeting in Birmingham, and her visit to the Smithsonium Air and Space Museum.

4. On February 9, we will airmark at LaBelle Airport.

5. Seven members attended Aviation Day at Page Field. We gave out close to 100 foam airplanes, sold several articles, and made $71.00, including tickets on the gift basket. We signed up 4-5 girls who are interested in aviation but are too young to become 99s. Also Judy has been trying to get an aviation badge for the Girl Scouts.

6.  Headquarters is working on chapter by-laws, so we won’t have to do our own.

7. Standing rules do  not allow military pilots to join the 99s. This should be changed.

8. Scholarship programs and poker runs are things to think about for the future.

9. Carolyn is working on a flyer to be displayed at airports.

10. We should have our own web site and this will be looked into.

11. Activities: Dec. 18, 5:30 pm, Christmas party at Becki’s; Jan. 22 and 26, airport programs. Photo IDs are required for the airport programs.

The meeting was adjourned at 9 ;00 pm.
