MEETING, PARADISE COAST CHAPTER, NINETY-NINES

January 22, 2008

Present: Jessica Stearns, Ellen Herr, Lynne Graham, Terri Krass, Debra Stone, Kaye Tucker, Frances Freeman, Patty Berg, Terry Carbonell, Becki King, Joanna Gollin, Judy Bowser, Anne Roethke.

The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm by Chair Jessica Stearns.

1. Sherry Lorenz and Becki King are now members of the chapter.

2. The minutes of the November meeting were read and accepted. They were sent out by e-mail but not received.

3. Jessica mentioned that the pre-conference tour is one way. Return reservations from Anchorage are required.

4. The airmarking at LaBelle in February has been cancelled.

5. Treasurer's report. As of Dec. 31, 2007, there was $261.48 in our bank account, and $20.00 was collected tonight. A charge of $21.00 for checks was made in November.

6. Membership. Judy reported that we have 18, two of whom are future women pilots.

7. Jessica circulated two copies of the headquarters dispatch.

8. Web site. This would cost us $20.00 per month. It was decided to keep our present arrangement for a while.

9. Under consideration for a future project is a proficiency race in the fall, possibly with the Gold Coast Chapter.

There race activities in various places this summer, like California, Oklahome, Indiana, etc.

10.  By-Laws. The current chapter officers will constitute a by-laws committee.

11. Birthdays. We would like to know months and dates of birthdays. Ellen Herr has offered to be our "Dr. Feelgood," and send birthday, get well cards, etc. Terri Krass will donate cards.

12. Our fiscal year begins in May. For the time being, chapter dues will be payable on the month  of joining. Dues are #20.00 per year.

13. Frances announced that on Feb. 23 at 9 am, Carolyn and her husband will host a breakfast at their home at Buckingham airpark. Flyers were passed out, and RSVP asked for.

14. Members are encouraged to apply for the Amelia Earhart Scholarship.

15. The spring Section meeting will be at Myrtle Beach.

16. "Stupid Pilot" stories were told by Becki and Debra.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
