Paradise Coast Chapter 99's

Fall 2007 News

AVIATION DAY a SUCCESS!

Aviation Day was good to us. We signed up a few for our dinner,
possibly one or two more 99s. I am compling a list of girls
interested in Aviation who are under 16. I am interested in helping
them understand aviation more and mentoring them through their pilots
license and recruiting them for FWPs when they can join 99s. You
must be 16 to get your medical and take your ground school test. My
understanding is you can get your license at 17, but have not looked
it up, as yet.

Our wine and cheese basket was won by the Mom of one of the girls
interested in aviation. We collected $115.00 for our treasury for
scholarships.

We sold some things for Breast Cancer cure and received orders for
more pins. I will bring the Breast Cancer clothing to our next
meeting for all to see.

A BIG thank you to Kaye Tucker, Nancy Moore, for bringing your planes
and your help, Patty Berg, Anne Roethke, Anne Miller, Terri Krass for
your help during an eventful day.
Thank you to Ellen Herr, Jessica Stearns, Kaye Tucker, Cheryl Dratler
for your hard work making the pop rockets. Nancy Moore for her
contribution of wine, and Terry Carbonell for her generous
contribution for the rest of the basket. Without you two we wouldn't
have made money.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of you who helped make our
booth a success!

Joanna flew her bird 7.5 hours herself. Again this year, she
stopped at sundown. Way to go Joanna!

Physiology Training & Survival Training:  Have you ever wanted to take a spin in the altitude chamber to see how you will react at 25,000'? What is spacial disorientation and what will it do to you? I have just crashed my plane and survived: now, what do I do until I am rescued? If these questions have ever popped in to your mind, you might be a candidate for the physiology training and survival training put on by CAMI out in Oklahoma City. The training is FREE and all you need is 2 days of your time and a current medical certificate. Interested?
